In all times, in all places, have always existed the Eloi and the Morlocks. Nothing new under the rising sun.

Most Eloi are never aware of the Morlocks' presence though their effects are felt everywhere. Well fed, distracted, and oblivious to the dangers lurking in the shadowlands, they are easy prey in their naivety and innocence, and from those shadowlands, their own are regularly taken.

In such times have always emerged those rare few who can see clearly into that darkness. Who possess the strength, and the willingness, to stand alone. Who through their sight and their courage bring forth into the world the spirit of hope, forbearance, and dignified resistance.
