A little about the Artist.

Stephen Doig was born in Oxford in 1964.
A professional artist for over 30 years, he lived and exhibited mainly in Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. He now paints on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Bute.
His high quality portrait and figure compositions have earned Stephen a reputation as one of Britain's foremost contemporary sporting artists.
His work is widely appreciated by private collectors, players, teams and supporters as well as businesses, who have purchased his original pastel paintings and limited edition fine art prints.
Stephen's encounter with art began at an early age. A self taught artist, he has explored many techniques over the years, continually refining his own unique style.
The decision to add colour in the form of pastel to early pencil sketches transformed his drawings into highly finished and accomplished paintings.
Blending a keen interest in sport with his artistic flair, Stephen's unique expertise lies in combining exceptional portraiture with an ability to capture the movement, power and passion of athletic endeavour and triumph.
Though best known for his sports images, Stephen is also highly accomplished in many other diverse figurative subjects, such as music legends, royalty and historical figures.
The combination of superb attention to detail and his use of soft pastel creates the dynamic atmosphere that epitomises the desirable artwork Stephen produces today.
